Sugar Pie
behind the song
Merell was messing around on the organ, playing descending tritones, commonly called “the Devil’s interval”, when Tristan told him to “loop that”…
Tristan started writing…
The boys knew what that meant
They got to work.
Matawan, NJ
Sugar Pie was recorded in the suburban, Matawan, NJ in Steve’s parents house. While the Ross’ enjoyed a Caribbean cruise, we converted their living room into a recording studio.
The placeholder title for this upcoming project was “Steve’s Roommates”, referring to Steve’s parents. (Steve doesn’t live with his parents, anymore)

Alexandra Johnson, our most frequent collaborator, is the woman behind most of our photos, and behind the camera on “Sugar Pie.”
Addison Thompson, our go-to makeup artist, doubled as assistant director on the “Sugar Pie” video. (That’s Addie shouting out directions in the background.)
Nati Ramirez, our beloved manager and jack of all trades, and our friend Francis Cao, make very special guest appearances.
